Teen Section at the Cranford Public Library

About

The Teen & Young Adult Department of the library works to provide a variety of materials, from books to graphic novels and downloadable audiobooks, available to our community. There are both regular monthly events and special events held each month at the library or within the attached Community Center. During the summer, the library organizes a summer reading program to help protect students from the "summer slide" and to give them a safe environment in which to meet.

Reach out to the librarian with any questions or concerns about the YA program!

The Teen Zone of the library is just to the right of the entrance. After school from 3-7 PM, it is reserved solely for teens aged 10-18. During the summer, these hours may vary. When the teen librarian is present, the Nintendo Switch is available to use on the TV in the Teen Zone. Programs may be held in the Teen Zone, so check out the calendar for more information.

Volunteering

High school and middle school students are encouraged to get in touch with the librarian to learn more about volunteer opportunities. There are both regularly scheduled events and special events that often need help with set-up, running, and clean-up.

Interested students may sign up here for one of our volunteer opportunities.

Requesting a Book

If the library does not have a book that you are looking for or you know of an upcoming release that you'd like the library to buy, let us know!

The library is now part of LMXAC, and any book that we do not have may be owned by one of our sister libraries. You can request it through the catalog. If none of those libraries have it, you may still be able to request an Interlibrary Loan or ask a librarian for a request to purchase form!
