Poetry in Motion

  • The Cranford Community Center 220 Walnut Avenue Cranford, NJ, 07016 United States (map)

If you’re interested in poetry of any kind and from any era, this is the club for you!

The first half of the meeting will be a brief, informal class highlighting the history of poetry along with some of its major types and techniques. The second half will be in the style of a book club, with poems that we will discuss and interpret together as a group.

In this session, we will be focusing on poems about springtime. We'll discuss the history of spring poetry, including some classic examples and common motifs used by poets throughout time to capture the essence of the season through verse. Please bring one to two poems of your choice that evoke spring so we can read and discuss together!
